Growing Interest in Paranormal Movies in Recent Times

Paranormal movies have grown in popularity for different reasons. Some people are either able to relate to some of the activities portrayed in the movies or there is a thrill certain people derive from the horror theme/the fear factor.

On a general note, when human beings experience emotions, hormones are involved, fear being one of such emotions. The intensity of this emotion can spark an adrenaline rush. Some people on the other hand are simply entertained by paranormal movies the same way another person might be entertained by a romance movie.

In recent times, some good paranormal movies have been made. Below is a list of a fewmust-see, randomly selectedparanormal movies produced in the last few years and a few comments on some of them:

Paranormal Activity has four parts. Each part tells a story of its own, however thesestories are somehowlinked and it would help to watch the previous part to understand the next. A few of these horror movies have been successful enough to have other parts and the good thing about paranormal kind of movies is that it is suspense filled! This is one component that shows how much thought the producer has put in as without it, a paranormal movie can be said not have been well acted.

The Exorcist is a successful paranormal TV series on religion and supernatural forces.From this series, it shows that the producers took time to study the importance attached to religious leaders. It has so far been said to be very well acted.

Insidious is another movie that has been quite successful. It hit the theatres in 2011 and has had three other parts, Part 4 is expected to be released this year, 2017 and has people sitting on the edge as they wait for its release.


The Conjuring was made in two parts and the second part was released last year, 2016. There were some great block busters and though horror movies generally do not fall in that category, this movie did not disappoint as it raked in a number of good reviews.

The Orphanage manages to attain its success from the fact that there is less blood and gore but more thrill, fright and the amount of suspense causes one to literally want to jump out of their seats. The viewers see an unclear line between a mother and her child of what is a function of thoughts and imagination as opposed to reality.

Not very long ago, people might not have imagined that Paranormal Movies and Series would become so widespread and liked but they are today.These films tend not to have such big budgets as it is almost like making a bet but with the growing interest in this category of films, it is not surprising that they are successful and do not seem like they will slow down soon.
